This mom:
-- is suffering from major sensory overload
-- is loving her big cozy chair
-- has a cold and sore nose
This boy:
-- is addicted to computer games and consequently lost computer privileges tomorrow
-- sings "You're a grand ol' flag" at least 4oo times a day (thank you ms. kristin)
-- just said "hey mom, since I just did all this boring stuff can I stay up and wait for dad to come home?" The 'boring' stuff he speaks of would be legos. Does anyone else find themselves threatening their children to actually play with their toys? Or find themselves threatening to give the unplayed with toys away? Or best of all, that there will be no new toys at Christmas if the old ones don't get used?
This girl:
-- loves to show her excitement by the double fisted expression seen here
-- is addicted to pens and markers. No crayon, pencil, or chalk is good enough for her. At least 400 times a day I can be heard saying "You get back to the table right now with your pen!"
-- talks non-stop. She's added words like cracker, yogurt, elephant, Danielle, and Melanie to her list of words but absolutely refuses to even try saying Spencer's name
This boy:
-- was 4 months old on the 17th
-- is trying really, really hard to roll over (my mom said he did at her house last friday but he's struggling here with getting from his back to his tummy)
-- was not impressed with his baby food
This guy:
-- is seen here installing my early christmas present (I'll post about that later)
-- has a long list of honey do's and is actually looking forward to most of them
-- is still waiting for me to take him to Famous Dave's

Me
I often claim that my main motivation for blogging is journaling. I love to take pics of my kids and as mentioned before, scrapbook them but I never seem to add the journaling element. In the months I've been blogging, I've written down more stuff about my kids than I have in the last four years. I've never been good at keeping track of major milestones, or at keeping track of where I've written some of them down at. Spencers baby book is still blank and I still haven't purchased ones for the other two. Blogging has started to change that. I realized however that part of documenting my children's childhood should include stuff about the people they see on a daily basis. Like me. Or Jason. Or Katie, Kim, or their grandparents, etc. So I'm gonna start trying to feature a few of these individuals. Starting with me.
I hope I can do this.
I think I can do this.
I find it difficult and awkward to write about myself. I find myself stumped at the things I like, love, or am annoyed by. Weird, huh?
1. I stay up way too late, but function best first thing in the morning.
2. I only drink milk with ice in it.
3. I recently spent 5 weeks devouring hot fudge sundaes from Dairy Queen (I am ashamed to
mention the size, or the fact that I request extra hot fudge).
4. I love to make lists. Then rewrite them. And rewrite them again. And again.
5. I love socks, especially knee-highs.
6. I've almost always had short hair.
7. I love to have my feet rubbed which drives Jason nuts.
8. I love to read.
9. I love the noise a keyboard makes.
10. I have terrible, horrible phone etiquette, especially with anyone in my family. My apologies. 11. Discussing cars annoys me.
12. I love the color red.
13. I taught myself to sew two years ago. If you can consider it sewing.
14. My husband claims I am one of the most driven people he knows. However I don't think he necessarily means it as a compliment (I stand corrected, apparently it is a compliment, it's just extremely uncomfortable for him).
15. I've been known to read only the dialogue parts of a novel. I'm not one to imagine out the scene, or the way the character looks. Because of this, I can fly through a 500 page novel in a day or two. Just don't ask me about it two weeks later. I won't remember much. But I still love reading.
Hmmm...now that wasn't too bad. Unless you consider that I wrote this post 2 months ago and am just now posting it.
Did I mention on that list that I am a MAJOR PROCRASTINATOR??

Its good to be home
I forgot to post this last weekend after returning home from Spokane with my mom and Sophie. Her appointment went well, unless you count the part where she had her blood drawn. Not so fun. Her doctor said everything was looking great, still no right kidney, and her left one is growing just fine. We got bumped up to yearly check-ups instead of every 6 months!
Jason: "Have you ever been home without me?"
Amy: (Reading into his question) "How was this weekend?"
Jason: "Uh, it was okay. I don't really like being here when you're gone."
Here's where most women would oohh and ahhh over the sweetness of her husband. It's not really like that with us so instead...
Amy: "But I make your life hell when I'm here."
Jason: "I know. I think I must be a masochist."

Random Conversations
are the best. Especially when you find yourself laughing out loud just remembering them.
EXAMPLE 1:
Amy: "My face itches."
Jason: "Maybe you are growing a beard."
Amy: "Probably."
Jason: "My face always itches when I grow a beard."
*Sad thing is, he's probably right. I probably am growing a beard. But I don't think thats why my face itches.
EXAMPLE 2:
Jason: "If you knew then what you know now would you still have dated me?"
Amy: "Yea. In fact, I wouldn't have hesitated to date you like I did."
Amy: "If you knew then what you know now, would you still have dated me?"
Jason: "No."
Amy: Slight pause, slight chuckle, waiting for him to say, "Just kidding."
Jason: "I would have still married you but not dated you. Honesty is the best policy, right?"
*Jason would like to publicly retract that statement. In the year since that conversation took place, he's decided that he would date and marry me since he's realized that it's not me that's changed but rather our lifestyle. I would like to point out that he only realized that after the 45 minute lecture I gave him on why I'm "not as fun as I was before."
EXAMPLE 3:
Colton: "Spencer! We're still in Pasco big buddy!"
"Can I call you Big Buddy?"
Spencer: "Yea, Sure."
Colton: "Can I call you Big Fluffy?"
Spencer: "Mom! I don't like it when Colton calls me Big Fluffy!"
Colton: "But Spence, Big Fluffy rhymes with Big City."
Spencer: "Okay, I guess."
*Oh man, I hope I never forget the way their little voices sounded that day. Spencer was all super irritated and annoyed that he was being called "Big Fluffy" while Colton was trying his hardest to convince him that it really was a good idea. It was classic.

This Kid Said...
::"Mom, do you wish we were robots so we didn't ever have tummy aches?"
::After he put together a 100 piece puzzle I said "Spencer! What a great job! You did a puzzle that was for a 5 year old," (we talk about the ages on toys when we're convincing him not to want something). He turned to me and said, "Say that again just the same way you said it." So, realizing that he was enjoying the praise I repeated it again. He smiled and said "I love when you say that stuff."
::"Hey momma, is that truck a 4x4?"
Laughing I replied, "Uh, yea it is. How do you know about 4x4's?
"Back to the Future. Marty says, 'Hey, check out that 4x4!"
::Sometimes when you ask him how he knows something he says, "my brain just told me."
Sometimes when he's trying to get out of trouble he says, "my body just told me to do that!"
::"Hey momma," he said while holding a picture of me and Jason from our wedding reception, "I'm gonna keep this picture of you so when you die I will remember what you look like."
Uhhh, Thanks Spence.

Feelin' Short
On time, energy, and brain cells...
My list of things done is short. Of things to do is long. Of things I want to do, even longer.
My kids are fed, dressed, and all asleep at this very minute so I'm at least getting the essentials done, right?
Here's a few unfeatured highlights from October. Please don't note the lack of Spencer or Carson in costumes...that's a whole other post.
