Spencer: "Hey Mom, do you wanna talk about my race car when I grow up?"
Me: "Sure, Spence."
Spencer: "Do you wanna know what color it's going to be?"
Me: "Yep."
Spencer: "The same as the nasty car. That dad's driving. The van."
Me: "The van? Why is the van the 'nasty' car?"
Spencer: "'Cause it's got all that stuff and junk in it."
Me: "Hmmm..."
Spencer: "And it's going to go really fast. And I'm going to win the trophy. And then give it to Easton...and Graycie....and Lisa....I'm even going to drive it there. To their house. Won't that be funny, mom?"
Me: "Yea Spencer, that will be funny."
**I think tomorrow someone's going to help me clean the "nasty car". After all, almost all that "junk and stuff" belongs to him. It's never to early to teach auto maintenance if he plans on having a future in the racing industry.

Dancing Queen

Ohhh, I wish you could see the real motion of her chubby little legs dancing her heart out in her crazy, sassy girl wig. She is SUCH a GIRL!!! I wish cuteness like this could be bottled up so there would be a tangible reminder when I feel like selling her off to the gypsies.

Under the Weather and feeling Guilty
"Last night," Spencer says between bites of his lunch, "I felt guilty."
"About what?" Jason and I say in unison, both anxious to hear his answer, wondering if he has any real idea what the word guilty means.
"In my tummy, about my sickness," He replies, matter of factly. "I bet my teacher was worried that she didn't see me because of my sickness."
A few cold 'bugs' have attacked our house, leaving three of us feeling dumpy. Why is it that I have the most responsibilities in the house and am the one hit the worst? I just hope this little guy doesn't get it next. His drool is bad enough!

Make-Believe
Only in the fascinating land of make-believe,
fueled by the imagination of two little boys,
will you find Indiana Jones
riding in the Bat Copter,
or a Schwan's box,
that is really a secret room with a trap door.
**By the way, there's really nothing wrong with the pictures, or the table in the pictures. It really is partially painted black. Big thank you to Rachael on that one. I inherited that table from her in its "As Is" condition. When the weather warms up, that baby's on the list of 'major overhauls'.

Activity Ideas #2
This week seemed crazy busy so we didn't do much 'out-of-the-ordinary' activities. But here's a quick, easy, and fun idea...
All you need is a few matchbox cars and a role of masking tape. Make some roads and let them at it...The older kids can even help layout the design. I usually do this in the evening close to bedtime and then leave it up through part of the next morning.
No cars? Or a kid who doesn't like cars much? Make them paths for marching, rolling, or crawling along.
